Cancer.

It's been confirmed today that my dog has cancer. Apparently, not the kind that could spread to his other organs, like his lungs, and there's a good chance that it won't kill him. We have to check his paw regularly to see if the tumour will come back again on his paw [most likely that it will], and if it's persistantly reoccuring, then he'll have to have his leg amputated.
That ... worries me, and at the same time, I have this weird sense of calm. My dog can, and will, adapt to any change you introduce to him. But it's the thought of them ... cutting into him, taking parts away from him, even though he'll be so heavily medicated and won't feel a thing. On the way home, all he did was look up at me. If he's asleep, he'll wake up and look around for me... I have to leave my bedroom door open at night because he loves being on my bed and having a cuddle.
We'll be okay. Even though it's scary ... I have him. I have never known myself to love a dog as much as I love him. Heh ... I'd rather have to go through the pain and surgery than have my little dude experiance it.
Um.
I'd like to take this oppertunity to say, thank-you so so much to all of my friends who showed concern for both of us at this time; it's very much appreciated.

And for those of you who didn't ... this may not sound polite, but screw you, and don't expect me to be there for you next time you have an emo fit. I'm sick of being there for people that are always too busy with themselves to care about anybody else.

I have to admit, the title scared me a little. :c

But it's good that your dog is going to be okay. <3 I hope he doesn't have to get his leg amputated. :c

You seem to have a great relationship with him. <3 I'm like that with my cat as well, tho I'm not allowed to bring him in my room anymore. :c

i am so sorry about your dog

if he does have to have his leg amputated, im sure you'll both adapt and be all the better for it

first the title scared me, then the first sentence terrified me. that sucks. i hope the tumor doesn't come back and ur doggy needz amputation. :'C hope he feelz much better so he and u dont go through more pain.

Awww your poor doggie

You're lucky that it wouldn't spread. Chances are they will only cut out the tumour. I think your boy will be fine.

As I've said before- they will do everything they can to help him. I mean, amputation is a LAST resort, so they will try everything they can before they have to do that. I know for a fact they won't just go "Oh well, THAT didn't work, so off with it!"
But I believe your doggie will be fine :3 he looks like a fighter! xoxox

I am sorry to hear that he has cancer. But its a good thing that it wont spread and kill him, even though it is cancer it's still a good thing.
At least it seems like they can treat it and hopefully they wont have to amputate it. I'll keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers and wishing you the best of luck throught this.

You take such good care of him, he's really lucky to have you. <3 Good luck with all this trouble, and I'm glad to hear he's going to live, and the cancer won't spread. Athough cancer isn't good in any way, this is better than it could be.

After reading it, I feel so relieved that your dog isn't in terrible danger (that sounds weird, oops) because while he does have the cancer, it's not deadly, which makes me feel glad ^^

You're so close to your dog, and I'm so sorry this is happening to him :c I hope that it doesn't turn out to be a reoccuring tumor.

How old is he?
